Peewees advance to state competition

BURNETT COUNTY - In the first game against Barron the Blizzard started the first period with two goals: the first one was scored by Clayton Shutt with an assist from Grayson Hendricks-Baxter. The second goal was on a breakaway from Ryder Anderson. The second period started with two goals in the first three minutes, scored by Landyn Randt with an assist from Ryder Anderson and 22 seconds later from Zaidyn Wedin, assisted by Lane Hopkins. Barron answered after four goals but the Blizzard quickly got another by Landyn Randt assisted by teamate Ryder Anderson. The third period held two more goals, both unassisted, by Shutt and Randt. The final score was 7-1. That game led to the regional championship against Ashland.
Against Ashland the Blizzard came out and scored the first goal at 1:33. Clayton Shutt scored with an assist from Landon Smestad; Ashland quickly answered. The first period ended 1-1. In the second period the Blizzard got the lead again with Shutt scoring from Randt. Ashland answered, Shutt scored again and Ashland answered. The period ended 3-3. The third period started with a goal by Levi Anderson with an assist from his twin brother, Ryder Anderson. Ashland answered. With 1 minute 20 seconds remaining, Landyn Randt scored for the victory.
